What Are CC Routes? A Practical Guide for Call Centres

By the CCCalls routing desk · September 6, 2026 · Updated September 6, 2026

CC routes are wholesale voice routes tuned for call-centre traffic: short calls, high concurrency and dialer-driven call attempts. Unlike retail termination, they are priced and engineered for volume, with quality measured by ASR (answer-seizure ratio) and ACD (average call duration).

How CC routes differ from retail VoIP

Retail routes optimise for conversational quality on long calls; CC routes optimise for connection rate under load. That means carriers accept higher CPS and shorter ACD without throttling.

What to measure before you commit

Test 200–500 calls per destination at your real dialer pace. Compare ASR and PDD against your current provider, not the carrier’s brochure.

Why CC route quality drops

Operators change behaviour, upstream carriers oversell capacity, and CLI rules shift. A proactive routing desk swaps paths before it hits your campaign.
