ASR vs ACD: Reading Route Quality Like a Carrier

By the CCCalls routing desk · September 6, 2026 · Updated September 6, 2026

Two numbers decide whether a route is worth your traffic. ASR tells you how many attempts connect; ACD tells you how long connected calls last. Read together they expose fake answers, early media abuse and operator throttling.

ASR — answer-seizure ratio

Answered calls divided by attempts. For CC traffic, 40–60% is healthy; below 30% usually means blocking or a bad path.

ACD — average call duration

Very short ACD with high ASR often signals false answer supervision. Very low ACD with low ASR signals poor audio or PDD.

PDD — post-dial delay

Time to ring-back. Over 6–8 seconds and agents lose the customer before the call connects.
